One Community proposed the establishment of a Glen Ellyn Community Relations Commission back in April 2018. Since then, we have worked tirelessly in advocating for the Commission, as an avenue to ensure that our village continually welcomes, respects, and engages all people in all aspects of village life. We provided draft updates to the Village Code to re-establish the Commission, and revisions to its intent, purpose, and duties. The Village Board of Trustees in its August 2021 meeting approved the re-instatement of the Community Relations Commission, with the suggested broader scope. On October 6, 2021, the Commission officially kicked-off its work.
